About our featured change-maker
Jenni Wolfson is a human rights activist, writer and performer. Since April 2006, Jenni has been the Managing Director of Peter Gabriel’s WITNESS, an international human rights organization based in New York that uses video to open the eyes of the world to human rights violations. Prior to joining WITNESS, Jenni worked for the United Nations for 12 years, including three years in Rwanda and two years in Haiti. She investigated human rights violations, monitored abuses in prisons, and trained the military, police and judiciary in international human rights standards. Jenni also trained staff from over 100 UNICEF field offices to respond to the acute humanitarian needs of children in armed conflicts and
natural disasters.
A native of Scotland, Jenni speaks six languages. She has an MA in Human Rights from the University of Essex, and much to the delight of her parents, an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Strathclyde. She studied acting at the Deena Levy Theater Studio. RASH, an independent play, marks Jenni’s writing and acting debut. It is the true story of her life as a human rights worker in post genocide Rwanda. Her performances have been sold-out at a number of different venues, including TEDx East, the International Edinburgh and NY Fringe festivals, 59E59 Theaters, and Harvard and Columbia Universities.
About Meet the Change
Meet the Change is Pursue’s quarterly networking series. It is an open invitation to change-makers from across the spectrum: teachers and students, social workers and social entrepreneurs, artists and lawyers, investors and innovators, organizers, educators, and agitators – anyone and everyone seeking co-conspirators for activating their Jewish and social justice values. Each event presents the efforts of a featured change-maker while encouraging attendees to connect with one another around their own ideas, desires, and plans for making change. Previous Meet the Change events featured the Yes Men, Sara Horowitz, Ami Dar, Rachel Tiven, and Billy Wimsatt.
This program is brought to you by Pursue and co-sponsored by AJWS Global Circle.
