Rolling Up Our Sleeves!

On Sunday, July 31st the Brooklyn Bridge CSA, in collaboration with Pursue, hosted its first volunteer day of the season! We gardened, weeded, picked tomatoes, and tried to be of service in a spirit of partnership to help the community garden in Brook Park – and the community itself – thrive.

On July 25th, Pursuers gathered for the second session of the Chewing on Food Justice series to learn about food access and sovereignty. The event featured a range of guest speakers and presenters, and explored questions related to poverty, exclusion, power, ownership, control, and democracy, and how all of the above interface with our current global food system. On June 29th, Pursue co-sponsored the New Israel Fund’s fourth event in the Love, Hate & the Jewish State series. The theme was “airing the dirty laundry” and expressing what we often feel we can’t say when it comes to the Israel conversation. Over 70 people in their 20s and 30s participated and shared their thoughts in interactive activities and then small group dialogues.
